About Me and my Sewing Room
Introduction:
Hi, I am Samantha and I wanted to write about all sorts of
things.
I have two blogs and a website. I mean to keep adding to them to build up a useful reference of information.
My Blogs: www.sewandeverything.com, www.allthelifestyle.com/
My New Website www.sewandeverything.co.uk/
My shop: www.sewandeverything.fans/
My sewing blog is connected to my website, and vice versa, hopefully, to provide a connected experience. Any and all constructive criticism is welcome. Let me know on Facebook.
I rediscovered sewing during the lockdown in March 2020 and I wanted to share what I have learned.
I
love reading other people's blogs and seeing their makes on YouTube. In the
process, I discovered that I really like blogging.
Interests:
I am new to blogging, I also like sewing, and gardening,
too. I suspect I will be in the greenhouse on lovely days and in my sewing loft
when it's miserable outside. Of course, I will also be doing research to bring you better and better content.
Favourite Music:
A very eclectic mix, from Metallica (Nothing Else
Matters) to Simon and Garfunkel (Bridge
Over Troubled Waters).
Favourite Books:
Tilly and the Buttons:
Love at First Stitch
Stretch!
Make it Simple.
Favourite Magazines:
Burdastyle Magazine
Love Sewing Magazine.
I also like reading a diverse range of authors from Stephen King to Jack London.
I am always curious about other people's sewing areas, so I thought I would share mine with you:
My sewing room is in the loft, so I have slanted ceilings on two sides. This is my sewing table - it's actually a fold-up picnic table.
Inside the cupboard at the end of the room, is where I store my machines and my pattern magazines. Unfortunately, I don't have enough space for my growing collection of pattern books. I intend to work my way through all the patterns in the books which take my fancy. I also have a number of Burda magazine patterns that I intend to sew as my confidence builds.
I also sit at this table to record my YouTube videos, I now have two phone mounts on the magnetic board and a mirror because I use my phone to record all my videos and take all the pictures. The mirror (not shown here) allows me to angle the phone correctly and to see the screen on the rear of the phone to see what is in the frame.
I got a GoPro camera for my birthday and have started learning how to use it. I want to grow my blog and channel so I can hopefully supplement my income. I have some items that I sell via Spring, but I don't have any other products yet. My blog, for now, is monetised by means of adverts and some affiliate links. These two methods don't affect the price of anything you'd possibly buy via the links, but your visits will help me to keep adding to and improving my content.
The more hobbyists and sewists that visit, the more relevant the advertising will be and hopefully, you will see ads of interest or ads for products that you have been looking to buy in any case.
Happy browsing and Happy sewing.
